The Story Behind The Pups

While the pups are cute and lovable, they have a personal meaning to me.  I was a Beagle mom for 13 years to recently deceased Rosie.  Over a decade ago, I became aware of how Beagles are used for unnecessary testing and often are mistreated and euthanized once they have outlived their usefulness to the company.  Beagles are often chosen due to their smaller size, their sweet, lovable and forgivable natures, and their need to please.  Beagle Freedom Project was founded in 2010 and its mission is to Educate, Legislate, and Liberate.  They are a non-profit animal rescue and advocacy organization and the world’s leading organization for rescuing and rehoming animals used in experimental research. BFP is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of animals used in testing and research and subjected to other forms of unique cruelty, abuse, and neglect. BFP strives to end this cruelty through its educational programs, campaign initiatives and lobbying efforts to make the world a better, safer, and healthier place for both animals and people alike.
